Murphy's Boy by Torey Hayden

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I'll admit that this book warranted a 5 star, but that's a true score and not because I'm a fan of the author, since I haven't reach the level. I can be a fan of many authors but my reviews will stay true it it won't deter my honesty on whether I like the book or not. Fan status aside. I say this because reading some reviews on this one many quoted being a fan hence I believe this book getting the ratings handed out on it.

I was perturbed in the beginning by this book. I was disturbed not by the description given on Kevin's features, but rather how the author herself who is the special ed teacher as well in this story who played a large part in Kevin's life described him then went on to point out how ugly he was and how being assigned as his teacher seemed a nuisance from the way I have read it in my pov and preferred not to take on his case which clearly? it's her JOB to do so. Kevin was a child very much in need and throughout his young life there was no one there to give him the time and attention he clearly needed.

Kevin was clearly disturbed indeed and having read through and learned what events led to his refusal to talk you can understand with compassion as to why. I felt for the boy. Who could not? He acted out a lot. I saw this as his way to get attention although his was of going about it was very negative and the results disastrous. Poor kid! I show no pity for Kevin. I show sorrow and hurt for the deck of cards life dealt him. Everything and anything went wrong for him. He couldn't catch a break even though there was much that he brought on to himself. All that shite to the wayside, I enjoyed Kevin in all his strange mannerisms.

I did come across some contradictory in the book. For example: Torey writes about how Kevin's teacher in school should have reported the burns and cuts that appeared on Kevin's body and how the teacher hadn't, yet Tory herself runs into some risky situations with Kevin and doesn't report them herself.

Apart from ALL of that, I did enjoy reading about Kevin who was scared of his own shadow, life in general since he felt that it'd be better to remain crazy the rest of his life and I'm glad that Torey shared her experience she had with him with all us readers. A part of me wonders where Kevin is at in his life today.

January 1, 2013

I woke up this morning with a sort of revelation if you can call it that, but my mind is elsewhere and elsewhere is where it's going to remain for quite awhile.

You probably are questioning the title of this blog post. I won't drag it out or make you wait. That's the official date that I'll be shutting down this blog. No, I'm not doing it to get more followers, no I'm not doing it to attract readers and no I'm not doing this in order to get comments because frankly that's not what I want or need AT ALL. It's come time for me to just crawl away back into the unknown and focus myself to other areas.

When this day arrives there'll be no good-byes or farewells it'll simply be... No more. What I will say now is thanks to all of you who are following me and maybe enjoy some of my posts. I know there's much, much more interesting ones out there. I know cause even I follow them and I'll still drop in to read them from time to time. IF you are interested in what my contributors to the blog would post, they have blogs of their own which you are welcome to follow.

Thank you again and thanks for dropping by.

This blog ends with one of my all time favorite groups and songs.

Loving Instincts by S.J. Frost

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

***4.5***

This one was a next great addition to the series by S.J. I never get bored reading about the about the guys and I have to admit I'm more in lurve with Daniel with his spark and sass to the masses than the rest of them, but hey we all tend to have our favorite characters in all books we read n'est pas? Suck it up. It is what it is :snickering:

The plot, was well executed and flowed smoothly and nicely. I do also admit that I enjoy tons of action packed stories and this book has it, but not right from the getgo. I mean you can't expect it to start off with a huge boom and it carried through non-stop right from the beginning with a story that's 200 and some odd pages right?

The whole story basically worked for me with it's bit of action, bit of sappiness cause I enjoy that in a book and just the way all the character's personas come out into exposure.

I'm assuming and hoping where the next book will lead us readers to and dayum, but I really wish it was already being released soon. Oiye! Patience is virtue mantra! NOT!

Hope this is true

Wow! I've seen this with the letters out of order, but this is the first time
I've  seen it with numbers.

Good  example of a Brain Study: If you can read this OUT LOUD you have
a strong  mind.

And better  than that: Alzheimer’s is a long, long, ways down the road before it ever gets anywhere near you.

Oh what a night!

I thought to myself how I MUST share last night with you all even though my brain is running on ZERO manpower. Crawled in the door at the ass crack of dawn at 4am :groaning: but I won't allow that to deter me. Perhaps the large java which I'm NOT supposed to be having hasn't kicked in yet :snickering:

My awesome and dearest friend in the world, Ryan (yeah that's his real name) decided we should go out last night. Well hell it's been awhile and I just couldn't refuse. We hit up our usual haunt: Cruise & Tangos. After all this time I just learned the meaning behind the title of this club. Cruise is for the gay boys and Tangos for the lesbians. Pretty cool I have to admit.

So's we get there and check out their Ultimate and very amazing drag shows. I'll post some vids after all this IF I can find some...

I had black, Chinese and white chicks and dicks (guys if you didn't know that by now :winks:) talking to me, introducing themselves. Kissing :gasps: you heard right. I love to kiss, but when I am getting kissed at random and out of the blue by straight women and men, gay women and men I'm thinking the world is coming to an end. Ryan is very protective of me so he tends to hug me around the waist and hold me very close. No one and I mean know one touches his B :snickering: I don't think he'll ever change and I wouldn't want him to. He gasps, looks down at me little ole 5'5 to his 6'1 and just gives me a WTF look. I just shrug with an I dunno! I don't know these chicks/dicks but something prompted them too. The highlight to what set Ryan's protectiveness into gear was when I moved forward slightly while ogling the drag show to thinking Ry was dancing and grinding up behind me, cause he does do that and turn coming face to face with this REALLY fawking big muscled guy with this whole Fabio/Tarzan look. Long wavy brown hair to his shoulders. My mouth dropped and next thing I'm being twirled around and dipped. WHOA NELLY! Ry and our newest friend Breton couldn't believe it. Well neither can I and Breton even asked if this stuff happens to me whenever we go out. HELL NO, my gorgeous gay man it so doesn't.

I was snarky, sarcastic and blunt to be told by various that I was gorgeous, beautiful and a very nice person from the VERY short time they got to know me. Now another few more friends added to my FB and I didn't even do the asking.

So Breton who is truly your really good looking boy next door meets said good looking jock boy Derick who seems to think that if he could get me alone in some booth with him for 10 minutes I would love him to death and stop calling him a local Nazi. Yeah I went there :snorts: He was sooo... just like the hawt jocks in all those M/M books. Buff, arms, short blonde crew cut and blue eyes. Breton couldn't resist him, but I could, I can and I did. Whoop there it is. I can be mean.

What's to come:
October 13th is this huge leather fetish party which Ry got us tickets for. I've got the boots, he's getting me the leather pants and corset and we're def attending. Cause he works for the store hosting the event we've got VIP passes. Now check this out: It's called Leather Dreams where you can make your dreams come true. Mine is to be a Dom AND Breton and boyo Derick said they're attending and I'm going to be leading them both around with chains hooked to a leather collar. Bring on the whip!

I'll keep y'all posted on that event. My brain just did a major fart and died out. Hope y'all having a great weekend!

CIAO!

P.S. If you're ever in the Toronto area, Church St to be exact you want to drop here. A must place to party. To all the drag queen friends of mine appearing in this vid: You stunning, gorgeous, talented and you rock the house down!
